Thomas W. Wiser established his practice in February of 1997 to provide specialized railway engineering as a sole practitioner. The focus of the firm is to provide to each rail client personal attention, timely responsiveness, cost effective solutions and valuable experience combined with extensive knowledge of railroad operations, standards, design, and layout. This emphasis in Rail Engineering as a specialty involves design, inspection and surveying services for the railroad and port industries. This includes experience over 20 years of experience with projects that include the following: * Industrial Spurs * Port Facilities * Bridge Structures * Recent railroad experience has involved responsibilities as Project Engineer in the preparation of a 66 drawing track, utilities and road construction plan set for the Port of Vancouver, USA; operational analysis and rail facility design for various Weyerhaeuser / Willamette Industries, Inc. paper and wood chip facilities across the nation; two 100 car unit train loop facilities for the J.R. Simplot Livestock Group; and multiple bridge surveying and plan set preparations for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
